2017-13 Christmas Tree Skirt

This Christmas tree skirt goes well with the warm colours of my home.  The red matches my living room walls.   This skirt looks great underneath my Christmas tree!

It was quilted with a digital design called Christmas Paisley by Anne Bright.  I used a tan Omni thread on top and tan Bottom Line in the bobbin, which blended well with the muted colours of the skirt.   It was bound with a brown diagonal stripe that looks awesome cut on the straight of grain.  I finished the binding on a very long car trip to the east coast this summer.  It feels great to have a new tree skirt ready in December to update my Christmas decor.

2017-12 Coffee Place Mats

These four place mats were made using the four fat quarter stacking method.   After stacking the fat quarters, you simply made four cuts and then rearrange the pieces to create the four distinct place mats.  These fabrics are coffee themed and the backing is tea bag fabric.  They are machine quilted and bound by hand.

2017-11 Bright Potholders

These bright little potholders were made from two leftover blocks.  They were quilted with a green thread.  The orange binding adds a coordinating tough.   It is always helpful to  have lots of potholders at hand.  It feels good to use up those orphan blocks too.
