These two placemats are two of a set of six placemats I quilted and bound in August. They are durable and serviceable and I quite like them!
They won first place in a quilted practical placemat class at the local fall fair.
This project taught me the value of a walking foot. Perhaps you can see in the photo the slight drag caused by the presser foot. I did not have a walking foot for my new machine, but I quickly invested in this foot. It makes a big difference, eliminating the drag on the fabric when quilting. Definitely worth purchasing for any straight stitching project.
